Thinner is better (but not too thin-that decreases your readability as well). Streamlinedīulky fonts carry a lot of baggage and can impact readability. Surprisingly, too much sweetness in web fonts can actually repel people, or make them not take you seriously. Watch out for too much embellishment or floweriness. Is the font even readable? You might be able to read it, but will everyone be able to read it? Also, will this font display properly on everyone’s devices, or just the newest and the best ones? Simple But you need to reel yourself in a little bit and search with a more discerning eye. Sometimes when you’re searching for new fonts online, you can get swept up in the excitement of some of the wilder typefaces. So what makes it a web-safe font? Readable Most of these effects happen subconsciously, so, while your viewer may not consciously react to your choice of website font, it will work on them in a way that will influence their relationship to your brand. The shape, size, curvature, flourish, and boldness of each web font conveys a message, and it can attract or repel. Each web font has a certain power over its reader.

Our launch service had beautiful music thanks to Lilia using her gifts to glorify her God!Ī launch service is something to celebrate, and we certainly thank God for all the ways he blessed us in the 431 days leading up to it. Lilia is a WELS member who just started her freshman year at Baylor. We prayed a lot for a solution to our lack of music. Our initial core group (12 adults and 5 kids) did not contain a lot of musical ability. It is such a blessing to have a permanent location in the community and a place to come together and worship our God! Ultimately, God blessed us with a 6,000 square foot building which we were able to lease full-time and make our own. The VFW Hall, a school gym, and an event space were a few of the options. We spent a lot of time searching for a space where we could hold worship services. We met at on the outdoor patio of a pizza place, in member’s homes, and in a smoke-filled VFW Hall to name a few. Our core group met in a number of different places during the 431 days that led up to our launch service. It’s as if God was telling me, “Look, I’m going to bless the work that is being done here.” In all, we had 15 prospect visitors join us for our launch service.
She went on to say that they wanted to have their two little girls baptized as well. One of the first things the mom said to me was that she had never been baptized, but she wanted to be. It was a young couple with two little girls. I was standing outside greeting people when our first visitors arrived. One member said, “I just pray we have some visitors show up this morning.” God answered her prayer. We were just waiting for people to show up. We had everything set up and ready to go on the morning of our launch service. I’d like to share three specific examples from our launch service with you. While we always viewed our launch service as a starting line and not a finish line, it is still good to reflect on blessings and answered prayers from God. 431 days of planning led to a major milestone in the life of our local congregation. (July 7, 2021) and our launch service at Christ Our Refuge (September 11, 2022). That is the number of days between my first day living in Waco, Tex.
